Ever been frustrated by not getting the job? You have that great feeling you were a wonderful fit for the company and the role, but just aren’t sure how to get into the job?
I would like to share some tricks to write a professional resume and get into the job with a right kind of Resume placed by you on their table.
Initially, recruiters’ glance through your entire resume within six seconds, which means you’ve got five seconds to interrupt their mind, eye-glazing, constant attention that will make you start talking slowly through your resume no matter how much content you’ve had.
Here comes the 5 sec Magic Pill:
- Focus on the top-centre, since their eyes go right to the top centre of you’re CV. They want to see your name. Just your name. Unless you’re Doctor or Lawyer, recruiters don’t need other letters and credentials. An address and your contact are nice too.
- Then they look at the entire top half of the first of page of your resume—all at once. The top-half of your first page describes you. And that where the recruiters decide whether to come back or keep it away.
- Then they scramble down the left column of the first page. Looking for the companies you worked for. They are much more interested in which companies you worked for than the positions you held.
- Then they look at the entire second page all at once. Yes. The entire page.
This entire eye-glancing takes them no longer than six seconds. Also Remember your resume is crisp, clean and professional. Avoid fancy fonts and abbreviations, ensure your resume comes out without any grammatical errors.
