What is the best way to introduce yourself in an interview? How can you start with creating the best impression? Our first impressions play a major role in how an employer recognize you as a candidate. The first phase of the interview makes a big difference in the outcome, it may be in a good way or a bad way.

You'll show that you have the professionalism and communication skills to enter the new job. Some Employers may even reject you based on what you didn't do when you meet them. For instance, if you have a tendency to be late or to check your phone frequently, you’ll want to restrain those habits before a job interview. The employer may consider that your behaviour as an inability to make a commitment. Little things make a big difference in a job interview.

What to do when you are at an interview:

The first thing you'll need is to be prepared to introduce you to the person who greets you. When you appear at the interview site present yourself to the receptionist by stating your name and the reason for your visit. Be polite and respectful to this first contact in the company. Many recruiters will ask the receptionist for their impression on you.

What to say when you meet the interviewer:

Introduce yourself to the interviewer so that he or she will know, who you are. Stand up and offer a hand shake, even if they don’t offer their hand first. Tell the interviewer that it is a pleasure to meet them, smile, and ensure to make a good eye contact. Avoid common mistakes like not paying attention or dressing unprofessionally. And if you’re into interview stress, avoid that problem by researching the company, preparing for the interview, and practising positive thinking.

Introduce yourself - Short and Concise:

You'll have a great opportunity to sell yourself on an in-depth basis. Many hiring managers will start an interview with an open-ended question like "Tell me about yourself." The core of your response should focus on the key elements in your background which will enable you to excel in the job for which you are interviewing. Create an elevator pitch and practice it, so you're comfortable describing yourself.

Focus on - Qualifications:

Your introduction should be brief enough to hold the interest of the interviewer. Generally, a quick recap of your most compelling qualifications will make justice. Connect personally with the interviewer, also show that you're qualified for the job and would make a great new hire. This is your opportunity to sell yourself to the hiring manager, so take advantage of it.
